What is the Cooperative Alliance?
A partnership between Southwest Technology Center and Western Oklahoma State College that serves as one of three pilot programs in the state, all designed to add another dimension to educational choices available to high school students.

Through the cooperative alliance, high school students enrolled in seven programs at Southwest Technology Center may enroll at Western Oklahoma State College at the same time and while working toward career certification, gain up to 30 hours of college credit at only $8.00 per credit hour.

Hours earned at Southwest Technology may be used to apply towards an Associate in Applied Science degree at Western or be transferred to any college or university that accepts them.

Automotive Technology Aviation Technology
Business and Computer Technology Construction Trades
Electronics Technology Networking and PC Repair
Simulator Maintenance Technology

Correlating associate degrees at Western:
Aviation Mechanic PC Hardware Networking
Diversified Technology Applied Technology
General Office Assistant Medical Office Assistant

Focus of the Alliance:
Technical and general knowledge and skills that are transferable within the workplace and professions and lead the graduate to a higher quality of life.

Object of the Alliance:
To provide technical certification and college degree opportunities which benefit the students, employers and community. A better trained and education work force benefits the entire southwest Oklahoma area.
