Southwest Technology Center believes that everyone who desires training should have the opportunity of attending school regardless of their financial situation. Southwest Technology Center continues to promote financial assistance opportunities to eligible students who might otherwise be depriving themselves of the benefit of vocational technical training.
The primary purpose of the financial program at Southwest Technology Center is to provide assistance for financially disadvantaged students who, without such aid, would be unable to further their education. Assistance consists of grants and scholarships. The student (and the family of a student, when applicable) is expected to make a maximum effort to assist with educational expenses. Southwest Technology Center awards federal financial aid in accordance with the federal regulations and guidelines pertaining to the type of assistance requested.
Students must complete a "Free Application for Federal Student Aid" form. Application forms may be obtained from the Financial Aid Officer, Martha Wooldridge. The Oklahoma Legislature enacted the Oklahoma Higher Education Tuition Aid Grant Act authorizing and directing the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to implement a program of Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grants. The purpose of these grants is to assist Oklahoma college students with demonstrated financial need to meet the cost of attendance at Oklahoma postsecondary institutions. The FAFSA is the application for OTAG.
Southwest Technology Center participates in the Veteran's Educational Assistance Programs to provide approved instruction to veterans, to service persons, to dependents and survivors of veterans and other eligible persons.
